Nancy works conceptually and uses various materials to complete her series. The project ‘GLASS’ became a series in its own right: beautiful glass objects – made at Leerdam Glassworks – inspired by the lace ruffs of the Golden Age. The ruff was introduced to the Southern Netherlands by the Spanish in the second half of the sixteenth century. It was made of pleated fine linen and further decorated with lace. During her trip to Venice, Nancy drew inspiration from 17th century design and the Latticino techniques.
