Art is not what you see but what you make others see.
Edgar Degas
The bronze sculptures by artist Nancy Faas are real conversation pieces. Her preference for the formal language of the Renaissance and the Dutch Golden Age makes her contemporary work highly recognisable. In her own expressive handwriting, she designs visual stories full of hidden symbolism. Nancy’s work is thematic, considered and magnificently executed in bronze. Her bronze sculptures are issued as unique pieces by theme or in exclusive series.

A head full of stories and a strong creative urge; that is what characterises artist Nancy Faas. She finds inspiration for her bronze sculptures everywhere: in cities, churches, history, art history, but equally in human beings and nature. The intriguing compositions she puts together as still lifes are purposefully ordered and executed down to the smallest detail. Her works consist of objects she consciously seeks out or designs herself. Objects that have lived, that have been touched, as Nancy puts it. Objects with a soul. Her bronzes breathe nostalgia, a desire, stories from the past or a story from the future. Nancy was awarded her Bachelor in Fine Art and Design from Amsterdam University of the Arts in 2018. Nancy works from her studio in Blaricum, the Netherlands.
